The bill would wrest decision-making from the Obama administration and hand it to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The Keystone XL oil pipeline will not lower fuel prices in the US, the oil will be refined along the gulf coast and the fuel exported to the world market. Most of the pipeline jobs will be temporary construction jobs but it’s better than no job. The US will pay Canadian oil prices and be happy with it. Don’t build the pipeline down the middle of this country and the Canadians will build a pipeline to the west coast and sell it to Asia or China. Then what? The US oil and natural gas resources that belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Barry will support natural gas and oil production to pay for his ‘spending gone wild’ addiction. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

there needs to be a stipulation that at least 50% of the refined product be sold domestically at a dis count before any can be exported at the higher price.

Come on guys. This pipeline will not help the U.S. in any way. Maybe more jobs in the short term. But the supply will not go to the U.S. and lower our fuel prices - it will go to the highest bidder. Make them move the oil across their own country to their own refineries.

SparkieMI from Kalamazoo posted...
"us4usa has great idea... Build a larger pipeline along side of the existing Keystone pipeline there should a right away already in place.. OH!!! That would be to logical...."
.
So, why didn't they?
First, paralleling the existing Keystone pipeline would add 320+ miles (512+km) to the length of the previously proposed pipeline route, which runs directly through Montana, South Dakota, and Nebraska.
Second, because it would not allow TransCanada to tap the U.S. crude oil market that is now developing in Bakken formation region in Montana and North Dakota - which in turn allows a Canadian corporation to transport AMERICAN crude oil to the U.S. Gulf coast, for export.
Nice, huh?
Yeah, everybody has kinda missed that one little-bitty minor point...

Republicans have always wanted better competition in the market place - A chance for businesses to sell a product at a lower price while allowing business to recieve a reasonable profit.

If it is being help up because of the next election then it's time to get it done or approved now. EPA is just as bad as the people holding every thing up in WDC. Why do we need the EPA? Every thing they do costs the people more and more and they just money grabbers and don't do anything for America.

Superpacs are an influence on elections?
And, corporations are people?
Right?
