So the news last night was Toyota showing how it was impossible to hold down both the accelerator and brake; and have the Prius accelerate out of control. If that's the case how did this guy simulate a runaway acceleration? The CHP officer reported his brake lights on and smelling hot brakes. Or was his prius's computer not patched with the brake override fix so he could hold down both pedals. In which case we're comparing apples to oranges and last night's story from Toyota is that in limited demonstrations the brake override fix seems to work. But they haven't figured out why it happens in the first place.

The Design and software maybe suspect and if that is the case, it will cost them dearly to resolve.

I think Prius is among those. with shift by wire, so if the computer isn't responding...
